Public Participation at Board Meetings

» View pages in this section

Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings of the Fire and Rescue Board and its various Committees and Sub-Committees, except where confidential business is being discussed.

Where the Fire and Rescue Board Meets

Meetings of the full Fire and Rescue Board take place in each of the constituent Council areas.  Its Committees and Sub-Committees usually meet in Edinburgh at the City Chambers. Find out more about Fire and Rescue Board venues.

When the Fire and Rescue Board Meets

There are meetings of the Fire and Rescue Board, its Committees and Sub-Committees throughout the year and meetings usually take place on Fridays. Meeting dates are listed under the information for each Committee and Sub-Committee. It is also possible to search for meeting dates using our events calender. The Public Notice of Meetings lists meetings due to take place in the forthcoming week.

Speaking at Meetings

The public does not have an automatic right to speak at Fire and Rescue Board meetings but members of the public can make a deputation which allows them to speak directly to the Fire and Rescue Board or one of its Committees or Sub-Committees.
